Attorney Cathy Marino has built her practice by maintaining compassionate and personal relationships with her clients and her community. She is well known in the legal community, having practiced at all levels of the judiciary, including arguing before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Attorney Marino has successfully represented hundreds of clients, and her practice has been built upon client referrals. Clients have named her as the Executor of their wills as well as Trustee of numerous complex Trusts.

 

She was appointed by Governor William Weld in 1989 to serve as a Public Administratrix for Suffolk County and had continued in that capacity for twenty years. She has been appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem, Trustee and Master by judges in the Suffolk and Middlesex Courts, and she has also served as a Receiver in complex divorce litigations. Her experience is diverse and therefore she has developed long-standing relationships with the judiciary, the bar and the court personnel. Her trial experience includes criminal, civil, bankruptcy, probate and all areas of domestic relations. She has also negotiated favorable settlements for her clients in the above areas of practice as well.

 

Attorney Marino was born and raised in Winthrop, Massachusetts, and is a 1981 graduate of Winthrop High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University in 1985, majoring in Political Science with minors in Economics and Philosophy. Attorney Marino obtained her Juris Doctorate in 1988 as a graduate of the Boston University School of Law, where she was an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar. She was admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1989. She began her practice in Revere, Massachusetts, in 1989 in association with Attorney Leonard E. Pass. In 1995, she opened her full-service law firm in its current Winthrop location.

 

Attorney Marino is an active member of her community and has been a member of the Winthrop School Committee and Advisory Board. She served as a Town Meeting Member and on the Board of Elections. She is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations.

Paralegal Delia Wilson

Delia Wilson has been a Consultant of the Law Office of Cathy A. Marino since 1998, assisting in the handling of personal injury claims involving automobile accidents, dog bites, slip and falls and products liability. She has extensive hands on experience. Her main responsibilities include thorough investigation of claims, resolving disputed coverage and liability issues, along with case preparation and evaluation for compensability. She possesses extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices and has excellent interpersonal skills. Ms. Wilson works under limited supervision to perform work assignments and problem resolution of claims. She graduated from Fitton Catholic High School and is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Attorney Naseam Fonseca

Naseam Fonseca, Esq. is an experienced trial attorney with nearly 8 years of courtroom experience. Having graduated from University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut in 2004, and University of Massachusetts Law School in Dartmouth, Massachusetts in 2007, she has a vast knowledge of defending a criminal case. Her experience includes OUI’s, drug cases, domestic assault and battery, theft, and much more. In addition to adult criminal matters, she also successfully defends juveniles, which include school cases, expulsion hearings, Department of Children and Family cases, CRA hearings, and delinquency hearings.

Renee Benmir has been with The Law Office of Cathy A. Marino for over 10 years. Prior to working for our firm, Renee's career as an Administrative Assistant had included 20 plus years at some of Boston's largest law firms. Renee is an integral member of our staff and manages all aspects of the day to day legal practice. She oversees client contact, document and correspondence preparation, as well as distributing information to clients, courts, and other law firms.

Janine Scearbo has been working with Attorney Marino for over 20 years, when they were both employed with Attorney Leonard Pass in Revere, Massachusetts. Janine oversees all aspects of billing, both accounts payable and receivable. She coordinates health benefits, banking, business and tax reporting and oversees all aspects of the financial administration of our firm.
